FEBRUARY 5-7, 2019
This annual retreat is an opportunity for the New England Synod’s rostered leaders who are serving any of the 180+ congregations to come together in fellowship and discuss the common issues - the challenges, the hopes, the changes - facing churches today. This time together includes talks, yoga, as well as recreational activities such as tubing, snowshoeing and morning walks.
This year for those that would like to, we will look at the recently published book entitled "Midnight's All A Glimmer: Poetry, Personality, and the Power to See" by Dr. Karen Van Zino, a Family Physician and Authorized Enneagram Teacher. This anthology of ancient to modern poems is organized around nine personality types described by the Enneagram, an ancient map of transformation melded with psychology. The book cover states, "Enriched with humor, storytelling, and historical bits to entertain, enlighten, and inspire, this volume will appeal to those new to poetry as well as those already familiar; and to everyone wishing to know themselves at a deeper level." We will have several copies to borrow and/or purchase and the book is available as a Kindle edition as well.
Lodging and meals are FREE to leaders and their spouses. Accommodations available in the Conference Center, the Retreat Lodge, the Staff House by the Lake, the Village Cabins, and in any of the heated cabins. This is a very popular event and space is limited. For guests who are participating without a spouse, consider helping to steward the lodging space by "rooming" with a colleague.
