March Senior Weekend Retreat

Weird Wisdom:
Why the Second Half of Life is the Better Half

March 18-20, 2022

A retreat for people over 50
who want to learn the wisdom of a rich and rewarding second half.

Using both a psychological and spiritual perspective on growing older, we'll explore opportunities for making the second half of life, the better half.

This retreat is ideal for people over 50 or those who work and do ministry with this age group. Through presentations, small groups and solo time, Bishop Hazelwood will lead participants through his research and discovery. These talks grow out of his next book, which participants can help shape and will receive a free copy when it is released.

Topics include:
  • Friday evening - The Stages of Life according to Erik & Joan Erikson and Carl Jung: Where are you and what's going on as you move from one stage to the next.
  • Saturday morning - The Cultivation of Wisdom as the goal of life: We are meaning seeking creatures, and as we get older the pursuit of wisdom can provide that meaning.
  • Saturday afternoon - Enchantment, Integrity & Relationships form the opportunities for growth in the second half of life. Using biblical stories, ancient texts and dreams from modern people we'll find ways to add depth to our lives.
  • Saturday evening - Destiny is something more than a quote from Star Wars: As we grow we become more aware of time. How do we make the best of what is left so that we leave a legacy that serves God, others and our souls?
  • Sunday morning - Sunday Morning Devotions.
