One never knows who will join in on the walk from point A to point B. Pr. Jeff Stalley from First Lutheran in Ellington, CT happened to be heading in the right direction earlier this week so there was opportunity to "catch up." It so happens that Pr. Jeff is one of the 18 Chaplains serving at Calumet this summer. As the Family Camp Chaplain, Pr. Jeff also takes on the role of preacher for Sunday worship. Calumet benefits so much by the presene and the work of the Chaplains. Thanks for all of the congregations to encourage their pastor to serve the Church in this important way -- a week at Calumet!
Within a 13 minute stretch of time ... Associate Camp Director Jim Doyle identified an awesome camper creation in front of the office and the Beach BBQ enjoyed a quick little rainfall. Things to note: Paul Lindahls rain hat, Amanda working through the rain at the lunch table, Mike's confidence level that rain had done what it was going to do, and the shout out to the donut place in East Longmeadow!
It's Day Three here at Calumet ... and while the evening program theme has something to do with fairy tales (it's Fairy Tale Week, after all), Calumet's summer curriculum for Wednesday focuses us on, "Jesus Speaks To Us." Enjoy a few minutes from this morning's time in the Outdoor Chapel. You'll meet Jeremiah from Concord, MA ... you'll see Kirby on the guitar and Alex on the piano ... you'll hear Pastor Nancy share some ideas about the ways Jesus speaks to us ... and you'll meet Yellows co-Unit Leader Clancy from South Portland, ME. Check it out --
There are host of activities from which to choose here at Calumet. Boating classes, swimming lessons, field sports, photography ... just tons to do! Today, we have a little glimpse of Grumpy Old Men Sports (today it was bocce) and Arts and Crafts. Enjoy this clip, and the feedback that kids are really good at sharing.
