Here is GC2 taking a walk down one of the many paths at Calumet. Guess what? Today was a special day for one of the campers in this cabin! Do you know how we celebrate a camper's birthday at Calumet? Please leave us a comment and tell us that you know!
This summer we have two staff members working really hard to promote sustainability and help our counselors and campers to "Keep Camp Green!" Here is one way that we are working to Keep Camp Green... there is a sign next to the bowl of fruit in the Dining Hall that encourages the campers and counselors to peel of the stickers and add them to the sign to make art... rather than throwing it away, having it stick to something else, or having it fall to the ground! Here is an interview with some campers in BC2 ready to tell you all about it.
What could be better than Pirate Week combined with Discovery Time? In this interview, BC4 tells us all about their experience searching for a pirate that stole their loot and how hard it is to read a pirate's handwriting! You don't want to miss this one!
Our Yellows campers are the oldest campers that come to camp. As a result, they have some special opportunities that are offered only to Yellows campers. For example, some of the departments offer classes for Yellows Campers Only. This interview is with two Yellows campers and they tell us all about their Pleasure Cruise Class in Boating.
Throughout the summer our Junior Counselors (JCs) rotate through different programs at camp. Some of our JCs work as lifeguards at Family Camp Beach, some work with our Maintenace Staff, some work with our Kitchen Staff, some work as Family Camp Program Assistants (FCPAs), and more! This is a great opportunity for our JCs to see all aspects of Camp Calumet in the summer! Please watch this interview with one of our Junior Counselors who is serving as a Family Camp Lifeguard.
