Icon Writing

Come join us for a remarkable pre-Lenten retreat opportunity in 2023!  These ancient images of Christ, Mary, and the saints have come down to us from the earliest Christians. Icons have been called "windows to heaven." And though retreat guests are using paints, they're actually icon *writing*.

The Icon Writing retreat is led by Pastor Anne Deneen and assisted by Judith Ring.

By the end of this week long retreat, you will have completed an icon to take home with you. No prior artistic experience is necessary -- just a willingness to enter into the process and meditate on Christ in this hands-on retreat. All materials will be supplied. Instruction in technique as well as historical and theological background of icons will be provided.
