Reach the Beach Events

Reach the Beach Running Relay -- September 17-19, 2020

In 2020, Calumet will participate in the Ragnar Reach The Beach running relay for the 11th year. This year, Calumet will have 5 teams of 12 runners participating in the standard event and 2 Ultra teams of 6 runners! Teams will run from Bretton Woods to Hampton Beach. This year's event takes place from September 17-19, 2020. Calumet Nation raised over $100,000 dollars in 2019 and we're going to go for that goal again this year! We're always looking for new runners to join the roster. Contact Knute to learn more.

Reach the Beach Walk 2020

In 2020, we have a goal of gathering 500 people to participate in the Reach the Beach Walking Challenge which will begin Friday, July 3. The 11-week program works like this:

Sign up by filling out the form below (cost: $25). Just by signing up to walk, a group of donors will make a matching gift in the amount of $15. Start walking on July 3 and track your mileage. On July 10th, you'll report your first weeks' total miles.

For every 5,000 miles the group walks, Calumet's Annual Fund will receive $1,000 that it won't otherwise receive.

Last year, 180 people walked 34,000 miles. In 2020, we have a goal 500+ people walking 100,000 miles! If we can achieve both of those goals, Calumet Nation will raise over $40,000.

Calumet 5K Run/Walk

On July 11th, people will come together here at camp for our first ever official 5K Run/Walk. The individual registration fee of $20 will be shared between Calumet's Campership Fund, the Freedom Food Pantry, and the Green Mountain Conservation Group. The family rate for the day is $45. For those who are participating in the RTB Walk -- Just $5.

Immediately following the race, there will be a big buffet supper. For race participants, it's just $5. All others, $15.

Thanks to the race's many sponsors made up of businesses, congregations, & individuals! Sponsors are covering all costs associated with organizing the race and keeping the Supper Buffet costs as low as possible, and providing prizes. Sponorships range from $50 to $1,000.

Coach Bus Day Trip - July 11th

RTB Jar of Blessings

New this year -- RTB Jar of Blessings.

We are seeking blessing partners all over the place who DON'T have to walk, DON'T have to run, DON'T have to report mileage, DON'T have to participate in a 5K ... BUT who DO choose to have one "RTB Jar of Blessings" in their homes, we can do great things. Here's how it works:

Each time the "RTB Walk 2020" participants hit a 5,000 mile goal (the ultimate goal is 100,000 total miles over an 11 week period), folks like you will be notified. Then 1 blessing from that very day gets written down on a simple piece of paper and along with 1 hunk of money, gets dropped into your home-made RTB Jar of Blessings. Assuming we hit our 100,000 miles goal, each jar will have 20 blessings - reminders of God's goodness - and a collection of money. Send half of the money to Calumet, and send half of the money to a local charity you care about!

Materials: Any old jar, twenty small squares of colorful paper ready for your blessings, a label which we'll email to you, and commitment to particiapte everytime we hit one of those 5,000 miles goals. That's it.
