Anne Kinney Dacey

A Celebration of Life -- AUG 17, 2024

On August 17, family & friends gathered at Calumet . The Celebration of Life will began at 10 AM at the "Oasis" -- located behind Calumet's Conference Center. For those unable to attend, we are sharing a link here on this webpage so that the service can be expereinced by people wherever they are.

The Anne Kinney Dacey Fund

The desire on the part of friends and loved ones to offer expression of support & sympathy has been tremendous. Rick and the entire family understands that people want to *DO* something of meaning and value. Based on that outpouring, Rick and Anne's whole family suggests a gift to Calumet's newest fund -- the Anne Kinney Dacey Fund.

Rick has chosen to honor Anne's memory and legacy by creating this fund -- and it fuels him with hope. Anne's deepest desire was to live with peace of mind and ease of heart, and to be that support for other seekers. Her generous and giving spirit will live in paying it forward. As a community we will honor her memory in the most meaningful and tangible way -- by offering resources and training to help Calumet staff support those dreams for others.

Anne Kinney Dacey Fund

The Anne Kinney Dacey Fund will be used on an annual basis to provide training, resourcing, and support for Calumet’s staff, both seasonal and year-round, in the area of mental health and wellbeing.

Established in 2024 by family & friends of Anne, the fund will be used at the discretion of the Executive Director or someone designated by the Executive Director to create and support experiential learning/training opportunities that will help staff members in the area of mental health and wellbeing.

The Anne Kinney Dacey Fund has a goal of reaching at least $25,000 which aligns with Calumet’s policy that named funds have a value of at least $25,000. Over time, as the fund grows, so too will Calumet’s ability to offer resources to its staff. The Dacey family has been clear that gifts to this fund will bring a spirit of comfort and peace as they mourn and grieve. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a gift to Calumet to help the Anne Kinney Dacey Fund reach the $25,000 mark. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent the law allows.

There are some who may be able to participate more fully in helping the Anne Kinney Dacey Fund reach and perhaps surpass the $25,000 goal. Here is the announcement Calumet shared on AUG 7 about the death of Anne Kinney Dacey. It was posted on Calumet's Facebook page (and has been edited).
We come together in prayer to call on God’s unwavering and all-encompassing love.
With deep sadness, Calumet shares the news of the death of Calumet alum Anne Kinney Dacey. The Dacey and Kinney families are deeply entrenched here at Calumet.
Anne — spouse of Rick, mother of Erin, Claire, & Lachlan, sister of Kate, daughter of George, and beloved Sibling in Christ to countless people — died this week by suicide while visiting the United States to seek treatment for pain. Anne was a beautiful soul. She loved and felt deeply.
Rick is known to many among Calumet Nation for his charismatic passion and inspiring devotion to Calumet’s music & worship life -- including Calumet’s iconic Music Camp — in the 1990s and early 2000s. Rick and Anne have been serving God’s people for many years in Australia, all the while supporting and visiting Calumet over the years. The Dacey family has long loved this Holy Place.
The Dacey family will soon be journeying to Calumet to meet up with Lachlan who has been serving on the summer staff and has been receiving excellent care and counsel from our visiting chaplains and a response team assembled by executive director Karl Ogren. There are many pieces of information Calumet will soon be able to share about how people can offer support and encouragement to the Dacey/Kinney family during these impossibly difficult days. For now — for these next several days as the news of Anne’s death becomes more widely known — we can pray.
Please pray for the Dacey/Kinney family. Pray for the Calumet staff who is showering incredible love and care upon Lachlan. Pray for Calumet Nation who will be so sad for this dear family. Pray for all those in our midst — right now — who struggle, who are experiencing pain, and who don’t feel any hope. May God’s transcendent and powerful Spirit of peace and comfort be with us all.
