Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"

A *LIVE* Telecast on DEC 17, 7 PM

On December 17th beginning at 7 PM, Calumet Nation is invited to come together for a wonderful evening that will help to prepare us all for the wonderful, joyous Christmas season ahead.

The Calumet Players will arrive to camp on Friday after having done all kinds of preparation work for many, many weeks. Final rehearsals will take place late Friday and all day Saturday. The equipment will be put into its place ... camera operators will get things connected with the tech team ... lights will be carefully pointed and angled ... musicians will be practicing ... the last of the pre-recorded pieces will get made ... and actors will be sure that they have all of their lines ready to go when they hear their cues.

The team of producers, directors, writers, singers, actors, and crew will be arriving to Freedom from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, California, and New Hampshire after having relied on Zoom and FaceTime for rehearsals during the summer and fall seasons. Calumet will be providing the lodging spaces, delicious meals, and Johnson Hall -- the simple and lovely building where the Calumet Players will bring to life the tale created by Charles Dickens and adapted by Jim Doyle for this special one-night performace.

You know the story and have seen any number of versions of this classic which has helped generations of readers and audiences experience transformation, hope, generosity, and joy! Never before has Calumet tried to do a LIVE telecast of a tale quite like this. Some will gather together for "A Calumet Christmas Carol" Watch Parties where folks will gather a bit before for a classic PotLuck Supper or Dessert Potluck at church or in someone's home.

During the early days of fall 2022, some funds will be collected from some self-described second level donors and earmarked for 2023's Resident Camp for Kids to keep the standard fee increase (which happens every year) as low as possible. Inflation has been a rreal wrinkle for Calumet. But we hope some special donors will help us with this goal. These second level donors will be listed in both the opening and closing credits of the LIVE Broadcast as our Executive Producers, Producers, and Assistant Producers!

Love Offering

Additionally, audience members all over who will be watching this delightful presentation either on Zoom or on FaceBook LIVE will be invited -- toward the end of the evening -- to make a classic LOVE offering which will be passed along to five ministries that matter a whole lot to New England Lutherans.
