Adults with Special Needs
This is an active program for adults with special needs who may or may not have been a participant in our children's Resident Camp Program in the past. Lodging is provided in "The Barn" in the Family & Adult Campground. Meals are provided in the Conference Center Dining Room. Activities to look forward to are pontoon boat rides, swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, campfires, and games with lots of fun and laughter. Additional activities will be in cooperation with adult and family guests who are also staying at Calumet. This program's guests must be able to care for their own personal hygiene needs, be able to partcipate in an active physical program, and demonstrate cooperative social skills. Staff members provide encouragement, supervise activities, and encourage participation. We have a lot of fun in a caring Christian community. Come and meet new friends and renew old friendships!
As a way of ensuring this program's success and the success of each participant, we have an application process which includes a school or work questionnaire. Julie Ballance, Calumet's Registrar, and Sue Junkins, the Coordinator of the Faithful Friends experience here at Calumet, review each application to be sure that every single participant is capable of success. As with all of Calumet's guests who are participating in a Resident Camp program, all Faithful Friends are eligible to participate in the coach bus transportation to and from camp. To learn all the details about that option, just ask Julie. See bus stops throughout New England by clicking BUS STOPS.
If you or someone you know wants to know more about our “Faithful Friends” summer camp, send an email to our Julie. We’ll be looking forward to your visit.
