Lutherhostels at Camp Calumet are popular gatherings for adults over the age of 50. People come from all over New England to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation here in the mountains and lakes of New Hampshire.
Calumet is pleased to offer our second annual Fall Flavors LutherHostel, just in time for the fall foliage season. We will enjoy scenic day trips around the region, have a chance to hike up Jackman Ridge, or go out on the lake for a relaxing pontoon boat ride. Chef Wade is also preparing yummy fall flavored pies for our popular evening Pie Fest/Ice Cream Social! Guests will stay in Calumet's Conference Center which has a game room, some lounges for reading, the cable tv for that game you just don't want to miss, and comfy chairs in front of the fireplace to just sit and reflect.
Presenter Ellen Stamps, pictured with her husband BobOur guest presenter this year is Ellen de Kroon Stamps, Dutch born, who received her RN from the Academic Hospital of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Ellen has used her Nursing degree across the world. She had imagined that the church’s mission overseas would be her destiny, but God had different plans! In1967 Ellen was asked to become nurse, secretary and traveling companion to Corrie ten Boom--author of “The Hiding Place”. She has written an account of their life and travels together: “My Years with Corrie.” Eight years later she met Bob Stamps and fell in love with both Bob and his ministry as chaplain to the students of Oral Roberts University. They married in August of 1976 and Ellen promptly became the de fact women’s chaplain at the university. For over 30 years Ellen and Bob have served the Lord together. Ellen and Bob are parents of two grown children. She loves spending time with Bob every day and with their son and daughter as often as possible.
Look for daily presentations and discussions led by Ellen, and Judy Smith of the Calumet Staff will once again provide music and daily devotions.
This program begins with supper on Sunday evening and ends mid-morning on Wednesday.
The cost for the entire program is $215 per person.
