Bell Choir Retreat

MARCH 9th - 11th, 2012

Have you ever been curious about hand bells or chimes?  Would you like to know how to play them?  Come and learn how at this weekend retreat for beginners!

Mary Divers, a member of the Granite State Ringers, and Director of “A Joyful Noise” bell choir at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Laconia NH, will guide us through the techniques of ringing.  Mary is no stranger to Calumet…this past summer Mary led several sessions of beginning hand chimes during our Family Camp program one week!

In fact, after just one day, she had a group of hand chime ringers performing in a talent show that very night. “A Joyful Noise” bell choir from Good Shepherd, Mary’s bell choir, has also offered special music during our summer Sunday morning worship services. Mary makes learning how to play fun for all ages. (Ask her about Boomwhackers too!)

This retreat is open to all ages and abilities, with beginning bell-ringers having their own class where they can learn the basics, and more advanced bell-ringers having separate sessions where they will be able to pursue more challenging pieces.
